DAY 5

DAY 5 STATS
Date 14/05/18
Type Cycle
Start Point Kloten
End Point Romanshorn
Distance (KM) 86.9
Distance Overall (KM) 435.6
Time Taken 04:47:51
Time Taken Overall 27:59:09

The final day kicked off bright and early at around 06:30 from Kloten. It was a particularly hilly day with long ascents and steep descents throughout the day.

It was a more scenic day than yesterday, passing through rural villages and farms. The weather was also perfect again which meant it was another fast paced day.

The route that the team had been following is the Mittelland route and today it took them through some incredibly rural and old fashioned areas.

With the end of the cycling in sight, the final leg was through the town of Romanshorn to Lake Constance. After 400km the cycling was finally over. All that was left was the canoeing, which the guys have very limited experience of.

It had become quite windy making conditions on the lake tricky, but they were still determined to complete the challenge on the day. After roughly an hour and half of paddling, they reached the finish line of the German border with the canoe still the right way up!

Thank you to everyone that has been kind enough to donate so far! It’s not too late for new donations and the total is so close to the target of £5000 so if you can spare a few quid please donate here: https://uk.virginmoneygiving.com/Team/SwissAdventure
