Canoe Training with Boulder Adventures

Our charity event training is gathering pace now – our cycling ability has vastly increased since we all foolishly signed up for this challenge! We’re now at the point where we need to consider our canoeing abilities… or lack thereof.

To prepare for the canoeing stage of the Swiss Adventure, Jo, Sam &and Gary visited Boulder Adventures on Saturday to get some canoe training and experience (see images below). Their trainer David gave them the first stage of a 2 part crash course in the basics of canoeing. We’re judging it as a success as nobody fell in!

Based on Llyn Padarn near Snowdon in Llanberis, Boulder Adventures run all sorts of activities including canoeing, kayaking, rock climbing and abseiling. They kindly offered the guys 2 sessions at no cost to help out with this great cause. They will putting Jo, Sam and Gary through their paces again this coming Saturday which judging by the weather forecast is going to be around zero degrees all day… and during this session they’ll be doing capsize drills.
