This morning at 0900 Tayna launched a brand new car battery fitment guide! Our pre-existing car battery fitment guide was compiled in 2004 so any new models since that date have not been available for selection. As these guides are not 100% accurate we have worked on our data to get an even high accuracy level.
The new fitment guide also introduces a new level of detail that makes selection even easier than before. Rather than selecting your model from a long list such as Corsa 1.0, Corsa 1.2, Corsa 1.7Td, etc. you now choose your model such as ‘Corsa’ and are then presented with a list of engines sizes and model years. This makes finding a suggested battery much, much easier.
The plan is to phase the old style fitment guide out over a 6 month period. Let us know your thoughts, either positive or negative so that we know that we are on the right track!
On some cars the battery location differs between RHD and LHD models, with different batteries used on each. A left-hand-drive Lexus GS, for example uses an 069, a right-hand-drive model uses an 068 (same size, reversed polarity) sitting on the other side of the engine bay, in this case swapping places with the braking system. Whether this is mainly the case with batteries that are at the rear of the engine bay instead of just behind the headlight, or is more widespread, I don’t know.
I own a Lexus RX 300 (03) and have just purchased a new battery from TANYA Batteries. What an excellent service – ordered at 11:00hr and delivered to my door at 09:00hrs the following morning and the staff where very help ensuring I was ordering the correct battery for my car.
